Kitchen Foundations Ingredients and Tools

This is a cumulative planning view. Do not buy from this page. Each Lesson gives the exact amount and branch needed for that activity.

Lesson 1 exact requirements

Plain yogurt

½ cup

Milk unless an approved plant branch is used.

Banana

Parent cuts it when pieces are needed.

Approved berries

Learner washes and dries intact approved berries under supervision unless labeled prewashed or ready-to-eat. Parent performs any cutting.

Ready-to-eat crunch

2 level tablespoons

Check wheat and cross-contact labels.

Cinnamon · optional

Use no more than ⅛ teaspoon

Check its label before use.

The unvalidated metric-volume equivalents are 120 mL yogurt, 60 mL berries, 30 mL crunch, and no more than 0.6 mL cinnamon. Use one measurement system for the preparation.

Tools: water, soap, clean towels, food-safe surface, refrigerator, one ½-cup measure for yogurt, one ¼-cup measure for berries, one dry tablespoon for crunch, one clean food-safe scraper for leveling dry ingredients, optional ⅛-teaspoon measure, small bowl or sturdy cup, assembly spoon, at least two tasting spoons, a clean plate or bowl for leveling crunch, a used-tool plate or bowl, three zone labels, and notebook or plain paper.

Cumulative Level 1 foods

The approved Level plan later uses rolled oats, plain yogurt, milk or an approved plant beverage, bananas, berries, strawberries, apples, canned beans, canned tomatoes, vegetable broth, tortillas, crackers or pita, melting cheese, lemon, oil, flour, sweetener, salt, cinnamon, and mild dried herbs. Exact amounts and likely allergens belong on each Lesson card.

Cumulative ordinary tools

Later Lessons add dry/liquid measures, mixing bowls, cutting board and nonslip mat, rounded table or nylon learner knife, adult can opener, saucepan, skillet, oven-safe dish, timer, dry mitts, trivet, serving dishes, and shallow covered refrigerator containers with labels.

No branded kit, microwave, blender, mixer, food processor, air fryer, pressure cooker, or smart appliance is required by the Level 1 baseline.
