Frame-Edge and Background Scan Card
Before the shutter
- Point to the intended subject.
- Trace the top, right, bottom, and left edges with your eyes.
- Check all four corners.
- Look for fingers, straps, caps, bright spots, cut-off parts, and competing objects.
- Check mirrors, windows, shiny surfaces, screens, mail, names, addresses, schedules, and other private details.
- Ask whether the surrounding space helps the intention or distracts from it.
- Move the camera or approved object; then plant your feet and scan again.
After capture
Review full-screen. Ask: “What did I notice first?” If the answer is not the intended subject, change one thing and recapture. Do not crop away a safety, permission, or privacy problem; stop and ask the parent.
No-printer path
Say: subject → top → right → bottom → left → corners → reflections → private details. A parent may point to each word on a local screen.
